Ball Joints DIN 71802 and Spherical Rod Ends
MK Gas Springs supplies ball joints DIN 71802, ball studs and ball sockets for gas spring assemblies and other mechanical connections requiring angular movement. The range includes ball studs based on DIN 71803 dimensions, metal ball sockets based on DIN 71805 dimensions and plastic ball sockets in different sizes and configurations.
Our range also includes spherical rod ends with female or male threads. DG1 rod ends with female threads are used in gas spring assemblies and other mechanical connections. DG2 rod ends with male threads are intended for mechanical linkages and other applications requiring an articulated connection.

Ball Joints, Ball Studs, Ball Sockets and Spherical Rod Ends
Ball joints DIN 71802 combine a ball socket and a ball stud to provide an articulated connection between components. The BJ range includes versions with a hexagonal ball stud and versions with a ball stud Form C.
Ball studs and metal ball sockets are available separately in different sizes and configurations. The range includes threaded ball studs, rivet studs and metal sockets in standard, angled and axial configurations, as well as Palio ball sockets. When combining a ball stud and socket, check that their mating dimensions are compatible and allow the required movement.
Plastic ball sockets are available in straight, angled and extended versions. Depending on the product, the internal thread is formed directly in the plastic body or provided by a brass threaded insert. The extended versions provide a neater appearance at the connection to the gas spring cylinder. Selected sockets can also be used with our brackets fitted with compatible ball studs, as described on the individual product pages.
Spherical rod ends incorporate a spherical inner ring with a through bore for connection to a compatible pin or bolt. They are available with female or male threads. Both types are offered in version N with a grease nipple, requiring regular lubrication, and maintenance-free version W with PTFE, requiring no relubrication.
When selecting a component, check the nominal ball diameter or mounting bore diameter, thread size, installation dimensions and required range of movement, as applicable to the product type.
