Gas springs are essential components in various industrial applications, including the construction industry. These devices use compressed gas to provide controlled motion and support in a wide range of machinery and equipment. Gas springs are designed to withstand heavy loads, making them ideal for lifting and holding heavy objects such as doors, hoods, and lids. They consist of a cylinder filled with compressed gas and hydraulic oil, and a piston rod. The compressed gas pushes the piston rod out, creating a lifting force. Gas springs can be customized to meet specific requirements, such as different load capacities and stroke lengths. They are commonly used in automotive, furniture, and aerospace industries, among others. Gas spring manufacturers use high-quality materials and advanced manufacturing techniques to ensure reliable and durable products. Regular maintenance and inspections are important to ensure optimal performance and safety. With their versatility and reliability, gas springs play a crucial role in the construction industry and many other sectors.
How does a gas spring work?
Gas springs are consisting of rod with different sealing and bedding elements moving inside the tube filled with hydraulic oil and gas. When rod moves into the tube, the gas trapped in the tube shows inverse resistance to the direction of movement of the rod. The pressure of the gas the tube is proportional to the volume of the tube. at the same time, the force of the gas spring is directly proportional to the tube pressure. When force F1 applied to the rod is zero, the rod always stays outside the internal volume.
One of the most important factors influencing the service life and operating performance of the gas spring is the amount of hydraulic oil inside the tube. Correct amount of oil reduces surface wear of the sealing elements inside the gas spring. In this way gas spring perform most efficient performance and service life of product is extended. On the other hand, during movement of rod the in the oil inside the tube may occur foaming or bubbles, what has negative influence on the performance of gas spring. The gas inside the tube not only relieves the labour force, but also allows eliminate this negative factor.
