Ball Stud DIN 71803 Form C – Type BS2
BS2 is a threaded form C ball stud with two spanner flats for tightening. It is used with compatible metal and plastic ball sockets in gas spring assemblies and other mechanical connections requiring angular movement.
The ball fits into a matching socket, while the male thread secures the stud to the mating component. When selecting a ball stud and socket, check that their mating dimensions are compatible and allow the required movement.
The BS2 range includes variants based on DIN 71803 dimensions, as well as versions adapted to specific installation requirements. These may differ in thread size and length, ball diameter, base diameter and other installation dimensions.
BS2 Ball Stud DIN 71803 – Dimensions and Variants
The dimensional table lists the available BS2 product codes, ball diameters, thread sizes, base diameters, widths across flats and other installation dimensions. The corresponding technical drawings show the dimensions and geometry of each variant.
Products marked with an asterisk (*) are manufactured to order. The asterisk indicates made-to-order availability, not dimensional conformity with DIN 71803. Refer to the drawing for the dimensions of the selected product.
When selecting a variant, check the thread size and length, ball diameter and available installation space. The table distinguishes the ball diameter d1, base diameter d2 and width across flats SW. The two spanner flats provide the tightening surfaces. Some variants have a ball diameter smaller than the base diameter, so both dimensions should be checked.

Materials and Available Versions
The BS2 variants shown in the technical drawings are manufactured from 11SMnPb30 steel with a white zinc-plated finish. Stainless steel versions are available on request.
Requirements for alternative materials or surface finishes can be reviewed for the intended application. Please include these requirements when requesting a standard variant or a custom ball stud.
