Spherical Rod End with Female Thread – Type DG1
DG1 is a spherical rod end with a female thread, used in gas spring assemblies and other mechanical connections requiring angular movement. It incorporates a spherical inner ring with a through bore for connection to a compatible pin or bolt.
The internal thread connects the rod end to a threaded component, while the spherical inner ring allows angular movement within the limits of the assembled connection. When selecting a rod end, check that its mounting dimensions are compatible with the mating components and allow the required movement.
The DG1 range includes bore diameters from 5 to 14 mm and internal threads from M5 to M14. Each size is available in version N with a grease nipple or maintenance-free version W with PTFE. The corresponding technical drawings show the dimensions and construction of each variant.

All dimensions in mm. Version N is fitted with a grease nipple and requires regular lubrication. Version W uses PTFE, is supplied without a grease nipple and does not require relubrication. Dimension l is measured from the centre of the mounting bore to the threaded end face. Refer to the corresponding technical drawing for the dimensions of the selected variant, as external dimensions may differ between versions N and W of the same nominal size.
DG1 Spherical Rod End – Dimensions and Variants
The dimensional table lists the available DG1 product codes, grease nipple availability, bore diameters, internal thread sizes, installation dimensions and widths across flats. The corresponding technical drawings show the dimensions and construction of each variant.
When selecting a variant, check the bore diameter (d), internal thread size (m) and installation dimension (l). Dimension l is measured from the centre of the mounting bore to the threaded end face of the rod end. The bore must match the mounting pin or bolt, and the internal thread must match the threaded component.
Also check the available clearance and required range of angular movement. For version N, allow access to the grease nipple for lubrication. Refer to the drawing for the selected product code, as external dimensions may differ between versions N and W of the same nominal size.
Materials and Available Versions
DG1 version N uses steel and brass components and is fitted with a grease nipple. This version requires regular lubrication.
DG1 version W uses steel and PTFE and is supplied without a grease nipple. This version is maintenance-free and does not require relubrication.
The final letter in the product code identifies the version: N or W. Select the version according to the operating conditions and maintenance requirements. Please refer to the dimensional table and the corresponding drawings for the available sizes.
