Plastic Eyelet for Gas Springs – Type PL8
PL8 is a plastic eyelet with a brass threaded insert, used to connect a gas spring to a mounting point. The internal thread screws onto the threaded end of the gas spring, while the mounting hole connects to a compatible pin or bolt.
The mounting-hole diameter must be matched to the pin or bolt diameter, taking account of the required clearance and tolerances. When selecting an eyelet, check that its installation dimensions allow the required movement without interference with surrounding components.
The PL8 range includes two variants with an M6 internal thread and mounting-hole diameters of 8.2 or 10.2 mm. The technical drawings show the dimensions and construction of each variant.
PL8 Plastic Eyelet – Dimensions and Variants
The dimensional table lists the available PL8 product codes, mounting-hole diameters, internal thread size, thread construction and installation dimensions. The corresponding technical drawings provide the detailed dimensions needed to select a suitable variant.
When selecting a variant, check the mounting-hole diameter, M6 internal thread and installation dimension l2 of 28.5 mm. Dimension l2 is measured from the centre of the mounting hole to the threaded end face, as shown in the drawing. Both variants have an overall length l1 of 39 mm, an eye thickness t of 10 mm, a width b of 21 mm and a threaded-end outside diameter d2 of 14.5 mm.
Also check the available clearance and required range of movement. The eyelet body must not interfere with surrounding components or restrict the movement of the assembly.

Materials and Available Versions
PL8 eyelets have a PA66 GF30 body — polyamide 66 reinforced with 30% glass fibre — and a brass threaded insert. The insert provides the internal thread for connection to the gas spring.
Both listed variants have an M6 internal thread, with mounting-hole diameters of 8.2 or 10.2 mm, depending on the product code. Please refer to the dimensional table and the corresponding technical drawing for the specifications of each variant.
